Herb Scouts
A Herbal Program for Homeschool Kids
Herb Scouts is a heart-centered journey into the world of herbs, made just for kids!
Herb Scouts is our children’s program that blends herbal learning with natural science. This drop-off program invites children to connect with the plants around them, and with their own growing minds and bodies.
Each month, we focus on one herb while weaving in lessons on ecology, botany, medicinal purposes, and more. Children learn how to work with herbs in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.
Through stories, science, and hands-on exploration, Herb Scouts nurtures a lifelong love of the natural world while building confidence, curiosity, and care for self and community.
Herb Scouts meets in our private herbal garden in Historical Germantown Ohio, which features both indoor and outdoor classroom spaces designed for nature-based learning in all seasons. Herb Scouts helps young learners build a relationship with the natural world, one herb at a time.
At the end of the program, they'll proudly earn their Herb Scout Certificate, celebrating both their knowledge and their growing bond with herbs.

Yes, we do! We believe every child should have the opportunity to connect with herbs, regardless of financial circumstances. We offer a limited number of need-based scholarships, and we don’t ask invasive or personal questions when providing them. Our scholarship process is trust-based and rooted in mutual respect. If cost is a barrier, simply reach out. We’re happy to support your family however we can.

This course is designed with ages 7–13 in mind, but all ages are welcome. We thoughtfully adjust the curriculum to meet each individual learner where they are, whether they need a little extra support or are ready to dive in more independently.
